Christmas
12.6.96
It was the day after
Christmas
and all through the
house
not a creature was
stirring
except for my brothers
who were clawing,
and scratching, and fighting eachother.
And then there's
my mom....God bless her soul
She's trying to make
pancakes and licking the bowl.
And there's old grandma
Still wearin' golashes
Sittin' in her rocker
Her dentures she
washes.
There goes my dad
Tries to vacuum the
rug
Oh my poor baby sister
Her toys sit in a
pile
I think she's got
a case of
Tickle-me-Elmo denial.
And my old beagle
And his new meaty
bone
The fact that he
has no teeth
That sure makes him
moan.
So maybe this house
Isn't exactly rid
of sorrow,
But I guarantee you
that
It'll be better tomorrow!
