Seeing Falsely
5.3.98

I see the sun in shining
Let's go out to play
Never seen the grass so green
On any other day.

I roll down the grassy hill
What could be more fun
Than kissing the sweet summer air
And playing in the sun.

I listen to the robin chirp
I watch the river flow
What made me love this day at first
I will never know.

I looked into that warm, bright sun
And it stung my eyes
I ran through the sweet summer air
Got bitten by some flies.

I rolled down the grassy hill
And fell right on my head
I watch the river flow some more
And now it flows pure red.

I wish I could see all the good
And not so much the bad
I guess that I was born a fool
I guess that I've been had.
